Week 6 Sanga

Sanga 6: Conquering Our Inner Enemies

Are the things we perceive as external problems, just a reflection of inner struggles? Is there validity to the saying, “There is nobody who is your enemy except your own mind?”

  1. Read Bhagavad Gita Verse 4.22
  2. Read Bhagavad Gita Verses 6.34, 6.35 & 6.36

Negative emotions are a reality; they are not meant to be suppressed. Krishna makes us face them for a reason. Begin with general discussion on inner enemies – identify negative thoughts/emotions e.g. pride, guilt, envy. How do we overcome these enemies?

What does it mean to control our mind? And how do we come to that point (balanced mind) without being defeated? Evaluate the role of resolving internal conflict in spiritual progress.
