The Board

Yash Tyagi | Naperville, IL I'm currently a Freshman at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign majoring Computer Engineering. I'm part of the Formula Electric Team and Model United Nations Club, as well as the President of the Bhakti Yoga Club.    I have been involved with ISKCON throughout my entire life and have gotten this great opportunity for planning different projects as well as our main summer retreat. My first TSI retreat was in 2015 at Houston, Texas. Meeting all the other youth at the retreat and relating to their struggles/accomplishments was an experience that I cherished and wanted to continue to be a part of.  This year I have the pleasure of being on the board and working on expanding TSI. For the summer retreat this year, I have the pleasure of being on the  content as well as the prasadam team. Please reach out to us if you have any initiatives you would like to start up or that you would like to be a part of. I hope to meet each and every one of you at the retreat this year and the many more to come!

Nadia Kamala Peattie | Alachua, FL I graduated University of Florida in 2017 with a Bachelor of Science in Natural Resource Conservation and with a Minor in History. I hope to work in the field of historical interpretation with a focus in farming and education. I grew up in ISKCON, moving to Alachua when I was young. I've been coming to Pandava Sena and Sanga Initiative Retreats since 2011 and have been on the board since 2015. I look forward to seeing the growth of The Sanga Initative as it spreads to more people, to more cities and affects more lives. I love that I can see how different these retreats have made my life, from the connections made, the knowledge absorbed and the inspiration found.

Bhagavan Pillai | Houston, TX I am honored to be a part of TSI Board. It has been a pleasure to be able to be a part of leading an organization that strives to help young adults grow in their personal lives within Krishna consciousness. I have been involved in TSI for the past 10 years, and it has not only helped me grow individually within my spiritual life, but also connected with amazing friends that have helped me through my journey. Within TSI, I help organize retreats and other initiatives for our TSI community. Currently, I am in graduate school working on my masters in nursing administration and leadership. I also started a home care business called Atma Care, which provides care for elderly patients within their homes.

Nithya Rajasekaran | St. Louis, MO Hi all! I’m so excited to have this opportunity to serve on the board this year. I am graduating from Washington University in St. Louis this May (!!) with a BA in Physics, and a minor in Fine Art. I enjoy being an innovator and a creator, and I’m really interested in how I can bring these ways of thinking to the educational field. In my free time, I love to bake and craft. I currently run a small non-profit, Nitai’s Desserts, where all proceeds are donated either to my local temple or to distribute prasadam and clothing to the homeless in India.    I grew up in New Panihati Dham (Atlanta), but have most currently lived in Houston and St. Louis. My first retreat was in Houston in 2011. Since then, I’ve cherished the loving and inspiring interactions I’ve had with youth from all over the nation at each retreat. I worked on content last year, and this year I’ll be on the prasadam team! I look forward to meeting all of you!

Ksamesvari Edwards | Alachua, FL Hare Krishna! I first attended TSI in 2014 at Gita Nagari. It was such an amazing experience that I’ve come back every year since then. I am so excited to be on the board and give back to those who have done so much for me. The wonderful thing about TSI is that everyone you meet, no matter when you next see each other, it’s like no time has passed at all. One of the things I love about TSI is that there is such an accepting mood. Each person has their own struggles that they may come with, and the TSI family is full of open minded and open hearted people. I hope my contribution to the board continues to enhance that aspect of TSI. I graduated from Santa Fe College and am currently applying to schools to become an Occupational Therapist. I was born in New York, but was raised in the New Ramen Reti(Alachua) community. I love reading and am always looking for good book recommendations!
